About
About

Bianca Keeley (van der Walt) completed her Masters degree in Counselling Psychology at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU), in Port Elizabeth. Her training included working with a diverse range of clients including children, adolescents, adults and families. Upon completion of her internship (cum laude), she moved to Johannesburg and started working in private practice

She works therapeutically from a multi-model approach, whereby an integration of various types of therapeutic modalities are used, in order to help tailor the therapeutic process to a client’s needs. Bianca has interests in a variety of areas of therapy including anxiety, depression and various other diagnoses. She has found many benefits in integrating animal assisted therapy in her process and utilises equine therapy and her Golden Retriever, Harper, is a welcomed ‘co-therapist’ in her practice.

Because animal assisted therapy has been such a success in her practice, Bianca opened The Willow Therapy Centre, situated in Chartwell North Estates, where the calm, tranquil environment compliments the therapeutic process and provides a space for clients to relax and focus on their journey.

In an effort to support the community, the centre contributes to various organisations and she promotes the support of mental health by participating in various television and radio interviews.
